Welcome to the CinemaOwls Wiki for Kelowna Secondary School!
The purpose of this wiki is to share resources related to all types of media production and filmmaking. Ms. Holmwood will be adding some specific resources related to class assignments, and sharing links to many useful on-line tools and tutorials. All interested students and educators - particularly Ms. Holmwood's students, are encouraged to embrace the concept of collaboration and build and share knowledge and ideas by participating in this wiki. To do this (and to be able to edit wiki pages) you will need to join the CinemaOwls wiki. Then you can add your own resources, links, and fabulous ideas. Suggestions for how to best organize this wiki are always welcome.
Film and Television students are reminded that this class meets Tuesdays at lunch and Thursdays after school.

    • An excellent set of easy to follow, yet thorough and complete tutorials have been created by the Knight Digital Media Center (through the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism). Find out why 'handles' are important, how to properly use the razor blade tool, how to do detailed audio editing, and much more - it is highly recommended that you have a look at them!
    • Excellent tutorials on editing in Final Cut Pro can also be found at lynda.com. In addition to editing, you will also find tutorials on the other programs that make-up the "Final Cut Studio" suite of programs including Motion, Colour, and Soundtrack Pro.
    • How to import audio files into Final Cut (including compatible audio formats)
    • Time-code is explained at Video Editing - Using Time Code .
